The State Key Laboratory of metal porous materials was approved by the Ministry of science and technology in 2007, and one of the first batch of state key laboratories in China's transformation institutes and enterprises.
The laboratory is mainly committed to the preparation technology of metal fiber, the preparation theory of metal fiber porous material, material performance and application theory research.

Study on the formation, physicochemical process and interface microstructure of fiber porous structure
▶ Heat transfer performance of metal fiber porous materials
The preparation of sintered fiber porous surface materials and the theoretical study of its enhanced heat transfer performance were carried out
▶ Sound absorption properties of metal fiber porous materials
In order to meet the requirements of sound absorption in harsh environment such as high temperature, high sound intensity and underwater, the preparation and properties of metal fiber porous materials were studied
▶ High temperature gas purification of metal fiber porous materials
Research and development of fiber filter materials and components for high temperature gas purification
▶ Mathematical analysis of pore structure
Using the mathematical tools of finite element, topology and fractal, the characterization and description of pore structure are carried out to guide the design and optimization of materials.
